Keoni's Eagle Scout Project

My name is Keoni Pacheco-Lewingdon, I have been a Scout since 2018 and as life Scout in Troop 376 I am now working on my Eagle Scout project. In case you are not familiar with Scouting, an Eagle Scout project which will demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project that benefits their community.

Building smiles is the toy drive that I am hosting to benefit a non-profit called LittleBricks Charity. They are a non-profit that collects new and unused Lego sets to deliver to hospitalized Children's Hospital. In conjunction with this charity I will be gathering, inventorying and delivering Lego sets to Children's Hospital of Colorado. This drive will run Saturday, 02/17/2024-Sunday, 03/17/2024. I am hoping to have enough Lego Sets donated to value over $5,000.

I am a big fan of Legos and have been for my entire life. Its the one thing I still ask for every year for Christmas, even as a 17 year old. This picture was one of my recent builds. But the real reason I chose this project is because in December 2021 my older brother, also an Eagle Scout, was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He treated at Children's Hospital of Colorado and they saved his life. Though my family can never repay this debt, we have sought ways as a family to give back to them. My older brother organized and ran a series of blood drives to benefit Children's Hospital for his Eagle Scout Project. While my brother was undergoing treatment various charities donated items to bring joy to the children who were hospitalized and I realized I wanted to share my love of Legos and bring smiles to those children as well.
